Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation Hosts First-Ever EDC All-Stars Event Honoring Former EDC President & CEO, David Iannucci
On January 10, 2025, Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation (PGCEDC) hosted "EDC All-Stars Honoring David Iannucci" at the College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. This special event celebrated the remarkable career and dedicated service of recently retired PGCEDC President & CEO, David Iannucci.
Esteemed speakers, including U.S. Senator Angela Alsobrooks, interim Prince George's County Executive Tara H. Jackson, U.S. Representative Steny Hoyer, former Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker, interim PGCEDCPresident & CEO Ebony Stocks, and PGCEDC Board Chair Orlan Johnson, highlighted Iannucci's transformational impact on the county's economic development landscape.
The luncheon brought together leaders and community members to honor his legacy and contributions to Prince George's County. Thank you David Iannucci for your decades of service to Prince George's County and the Maryland community at large.

Washington Post With RFK bill in limbo, Commanders ink promises to redevelop Md. site
The Washington Commanders have agreed to Maryland’s demands for assurances about the future of its stadium in Landover if the team left and built a new home at the RFK Stadium site in D.C., according to documents obtained by The Washington Post, but Maryland Gov. Wes Moore has not yet signed the deal.

Maryland Sees Year-to-Date Job Growth of Over 40,000, Outpacing U.S. Average
BALTIMORE, Md., —Maryland’s employment growth continues to surpass the national average, with the state adding 7,100 jobs in November alone, including 5,400 in the private sector. Year-to-date, Maryland’s total employment has increased by an estimated 40,900 jobs, representing a 1.5% growth rate, compared to the national average of 1.3%, according to the latest preliminary data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

Gov. Moore Signs Executive Order To Bolster Maryland’s Economic Competitiveness
ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Governor Wes Moore signed an executive order to strengthen Maryland’s business climate and catalyze more economic growth in the state. The governor signed the order during a visit to the Frederick Hotel and Conference Center project site in Frederick—a public-private development project that is expected to generate $1.5 billion in new private sector spending over the next 25 years, more than 200 jobs, and more than $4 million in state and local tax revenue annually.
